Home Remedies Can Save Money

Many people look to save money. There are all different ways you can save money, some of them easier than others. One way to save money is to use home remedies for some common problems that would normally lead to costly and sometimes unnecessary medical expenses.

Below are some home remedies you may want to consider:

Bee Stings

The first thing you need to do is to remove the stinger. You want to use your fingernail, credit card or even a knife to scrape it out of your skin. Do not try to pull it out you need to scrape it out. To ease the pain you can use baking soda or a paste with meat tenderizer and water.

Boils

Boils are usually a result of bacteria that gets into microscopic breaks in the skin. These become infected and block the oil glands and/or hair follicle. White blood cells are sent to kill the bacteria and form pus. Boils are often very painful. Some home remedies including compressing the boil with a raw onion or a heated tomato slice. You can also try mashed garlic or the outer leaves of heads of cabbage. A warm tea bag (black tea) can also help. Put it on the boil for roughly 15 minutes. You will need to do it several times per day.

Headaches

Most people get headaches one time or another. Think about how many pills you have taken for headaches over the years. Think of how much money those pills have cost you. How would you like to try a home remedy which can help alleviate your headache? Try to squeeze the skin web between your thumb and forefinger. This is a pressure point that can relieve headaches. You can also try to massage the ridge between your neck and the back of your head. Avoid bright lights.

Minor Burns

Milk compresses can be used for minor burns. Soak the affected area in milk for roughly 10 – 15 minutes. You can also apply a milk-soaked bandage. Use whole milk since it is the fat that soothes the skin and promotes the healing process. Rinse the skin with cool water afterwards.

Toothaches

Toothaches are often a result of bacteria and decay that have gotten into the tissue in the center of the tooth. This bacteria causes inflammation and pressure which in turn causes tooth pain. You can take oil of cloves (Eugenol) for temporary relief of your toothaches. You should be able to find this easily. You can mix it with zinc oxide for a temporary filling until you get to see your dentist.

Upset Stomach

Depending on what is causing your upset stomach you may want to try baking soda mixed in a glass of water. This will alleviate stomach pain due to gas.
